Haunt Mods

Privacy policy

Last updated: October 26, 2026

In short

Haunt Mods is a library of horror add-ons, shaders, maps and more for Minecraft Bedrock. There is no account, and the app never asks for your name, e-mail address, photos, contacts or location. Mods download through plain requests that carry nothing about you.

The only outside companies involved are the ones named in this policy: Cloudflare (hosts the mods), Google AdMob (videos for free users), Apple and RevenueCat (VIP purchases). The app has no analytics of its own, and we never sell data.

What stays on your device

These things are saved only inside the app on your iPhone or iPad and are never sent to us:

• the last mod list the app loaded, so Explore still works offline;

• the mods you download, kept in the app's own folder, with a short record of each: title, file type, size and date;

• your Favourites;

• your choices: language, whether you have seen the intro, how many downloads you have finished and when the app last asked for a rating.

Which mods you unlocked with a video is kept in memory only and forgotten when the app closes. Deleting the app deletes all of it.

What the app downloads

The mod list, the pictures and the mod files come from Cloudflare R2, a file-hosting service run by Cloudflare. The app fetches them with ordinary secure (https) requests; when a mod's size is unknown, it asks for the size before downloading.

These requests contain no personal data, only what any connection carries: your IP address and a label with the app's name and version. Cloudflare may keep them in its server logs for a short time to run and protect its service (cloudflare.com/privacypolicy).

Remote settings

When it starts, the app reads a small settings file from our configuration server. It holds the ad unit for the videos, the VIP purchase settings, and lists that decide which mods are featured, tagged “May not work on iPhone” or hidden (for example after a removal request). It never switches features of the app on or off. Reading it sends nothing about you beyond your IP address and the app's label, like any web request.

Ads and tracking

Free users can watch a short rewarded video from Google AdMob to unlock a download. A video only plays after you tap “Watch video & download”: there are no other ads, and VIP users never see one. To show the video, count it and stop fraud, AdMob may collect your IP address, your device type and settings, an advertising identifier and how you interact with the ad (policies.google.com/privacy).

• Tracking: when the app first opens, iOS asks whether Haunt Mods may track you. If you allow it, AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) to pick videos that fit you better. If you choose “Ask App Not to Track”, the identifier is not shared and every mod works exactly the same. Change it any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.

• Consent: in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, Google's consent form asks you first. You can change your answer later in the app's Settings, under Privacy.

VIP purchases

VIP is bought through Apple's App Store. Apple handles the payment; we never see your card or Apple ID details. RevenueCat, the service that checks whether VIP is active, receives the purchase receipt, a random user ID it creates (not linked to your name or e-mail) and basic device information, so that VIP turns on and Restore purchases can find it (revenuecat.com/privacy).

Opening mods in Minecraft

When you tap “Open in Minecraft”, the app hands the mod file to the iOS share sheet under a clean file name. Nothing is uploaded: the file goes straight to the app you pick on your device. Once Minecraft imports it, that copy is covered by Minecraft's own privacy policy, from Mojang and Microsoft. Sharing a mod from its page shares only its title, never the file.

Reports and e-mails

“Report / request removal” opens your mail app with an e-mail to support@hauntmods.app that already contains the mod's number and title. Nothing is sent unless you press send yourself. When you write to us, we receive your e-mail address and your message, use them only to answer you or handle your request, and delete them once the matter is closed.

Permissions

The app asks for one permission only: tracking (see Ads and tracking), and it works fully whether you allow it or not. It doesn't use your camera, microphone, photos, contacts, location or notifications. The share sheet and the mail app open only when you tap them and need no permission.

Children

Haunt Mods has no accounts, no chat and no way to post anything, and it doesn't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included. If you are under 13, or under the age of digital consent where you live, ask a parent or guardian before using the app. They can turn tracking off in iOS Settings and use Apple's Screen Time and Ask to Buy for purchases. If you think a child has sent us personal information by e-mail, write to us and we will delete it.

Your choices

• Delete a download: swipe it away in Library. Delete them all: Settings > Delete all downloads.

• Remove a favourite: tap its heart again.

• Tracking: iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.

• Personalised ads (European Economic Area, UK, Switzerland): the app's Settings, under Privacy.

• Your e-mails to us: ask us to delete them.

• Everything: delete the app, which erases all of its data from your device.

Apple and RevenueCat keep purchase records under their own policies.

Changes and contact

If the app starts doing something new with data, we will update this policy and the date at the top before that version comes out. Questions about your privacy? Write to support@hauntmods.app.
